Last weekend my parents hosted a party for my grandparents’ 58th anniversary (pretty amazing, I know). As I was piling my plate full of goodness, my cousin’s daughter asked her mom who I was. She explained to her that they were just at my wedding a few months ago…
Then the girl replied with,”She looks different.”
Since I had overheard the conversation, I responded with,”You’re right. I probably looked a lot better at the wedding.”
She simply said,”Yeah…you did.”
Two lessons learned from that exchange:
1. Don’t attend family functions without make up.
2. If I’m feeling fat, don’t ask her, unless I want a truly honest answer. (Jay will be much kinder.)
Speaking of the wedding, here are some pre-party pics.
An easy DIY piece – canvas, wood letters and spray paint.
We made 300 chalkboard tags, but ended up using a white marker and faking the chalk. 🙂
I love, love, loved this couch. Thank you, Adam Covington!

Part of the head table set up.
Kate and Andy with all of the glasses.
Each table number was made from an old tree out of the backyard and my grandpa made all of the planters. It was a team effort.
Another shot of the head table. This is looks so plain without the pretty flowers!
Carlee + Paul girls
One of my favorites. So happy he came!
The tradition: every BBG child gets a quilt.
My partner in crime (and the best PA ever!)
They thought this was a good idea…
My daddy and me. Love him.
I can’t believe how old Miss Gabrielle is — and that outfit was adorable.
Ahh, more of my favorites. These people made quite the trip, and I’m so thankful they did!
